TFI-News and LeighFisher are conducting a joint market survey on the subject of UK road privatisation/ private sector investment in UK roads and highways. UK Prime Minister David Cameron recently instructed the Department for Transport and HM Treasury to carry out a feasibility study of new ownership and financing models for the national roads system in order to examine ways of attracting private sector investment and help modernise the British road network.
This survey is intended to offer a snapshot of the infrastructure investment community’s appetite to invest in UK roads, how best to create an environment conducive to investing in UK roads and gauge on what basis private sector investors are most keen to invest.

SteelRiver Infrastructure Partners and Patriot Rail Corp. ("Patriot") have announced that SteelRiver has agreed to acquire 100% of the capital stock of Patriot through its dedicated infrastructure investment vehicle SteelRiver Infrastructure Fund North America LP.
UK, Govt
The UK Parliament Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has published its report on the role of equity in UK PFI deals. Key conclusions drawn by PAC include 'the excessively high returns being made by private investors in PFI projects are further evidence that the previous emphasis on using PFI is inappropriate for the future' and 'there is restricted access to data and insufficient transparency over the amounts the public sector pays for equity and the returns that investors make.'
